If Iblis has a VBlog on Youtube…

2 05 2008

If Iblis had a VBlog on Youtube, might it look something like this?

This video is Part 6 in the “Shaytan Series” (check out the other 9 parts on youtube [I'd recommend guys skip part 1]).  Very amazing effort, would love to see our North American brothers and sisters come out with something as creative and powerful in message to address issues they experience regularly.

Write in and share your thoughts on the video (and the others, if you watched them) and tell us how (or if) they had any effect on you.  They definitely did for me, may Allah subhaana wa ta’aala reward those who made these videos.

Zindeeq! From the Qur’aan and Sunnah?

21 11 2007

I’ve never used the term myself, but I’ve seen it used quite often as a slur against others with whom the user of such a term disagreed with.  The article below has an interesting take on such a word, and I’d recommend those who claim to follow the Salaf, who claim to follow the Qur’aan and Sunnah, have a read and then discuss further their knowledge on this topic:

Jinn Busters: Exorcism Video

A classic video from my old blog on jinn exorcism.  If you don’t sleep well at night after scary movies, this might not be for you.

Regret

1 01 1990

A police officer in a Muslim country wrote the following letter to a Shaykh describing the events that led to his return to Allah. He recalls: Seeing accidents and crash victims was a normal part of my day, but one incident was different. My partner and I had parked on the shoulder of the highway and began to chat. In a random second, the scene shattered to the hideous sound of metal bodies becoming one. We threw our heads back to see what had happened: a head-on collision, the result of a vehicle slipping into the lane of the oncoming traffic. Read the rest of this entry »

The Struggle for One God

The Struggle For One God
by  Muhammad Alshareef

As salamu alaykum,
The following Khutbah was given Sept.15 at American University in Washington DC in Public. It was attended by many non-Muslim passer-bys and guests. The Dean of the Unvirsity was also there and a buffet and pamplets about Islam were presented to the non-Muslims. Alhamdulillah it was a very good turnout.

*BTW, the talk about Winnipeg was for comic relief for the Non-Muslims. It gets a little tense when challenging the beliefs someone has had for their whole life.

*And for all the Winnipeggers reading this, I met a guy after the Khutbah that lived in Winnipeg in 1978. He worked for the Winnipeg Free Press! Small world.

Eemaan in the Prophet

1 01 1990

One day the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam sat with his companions when a Bedouin came. Immediately the man asked the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam, When is the final hour? A question the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam disliked. The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam replied, What have you prepared for it? The Bedouin said, I have not prepared much Salah, or much Sawm, or much Sadaqah, but one thing: I love Allah and His Messenger. Then the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam said, You shall be with whom you love! Anas Radi Allahu Anhu the narrator of the hadith said, By Allah, nothing brought us more happiness after our Islam than that statement: you shall be with whom you love. I love Allah and His Messenger, and Abu Bakr and Umar; And I hope to be with them (on the final day) eventhough I have not done as much as they did. Muslim

Eemaan in the Qur’aan

1 01 1990

In the name of Allah When the Messenger of Allah Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam lay on his deathbed, his wives had gathered around him when someone walked in. She walked exactly like the Messenger of Allah Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam. She talked exactly like the Messenger of Allah Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam. In fact, after the Messenger of Allah Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam moved on to the Highest Company, when she would begin with bismillah the companions would start weeping in rememberance of her father Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam. It was Fatimah Radi Allahu Anha.

Eeman in the Angels

1 01 1990

In the name of Allah, all Praise is due to Allah, and may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon His beloved Messenger. Upon him, his family and companions, and those that follow them in righteousness till the final day. The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam was sitting in his home, his lower legs uncovered. Abu Bakr Radi Allahu Anhu came in and then Umar Radi Allahu Anhu and the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam remained in his position. Then when Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu arrived the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam sat up, covered his lower leg and greeted him with the warmest greeting. Aisha Radi Allahu Anha witnessed this and she later questioned the Messenger of Allah Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam about his action. He Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam said, Should I not be shy from he whom the angels are shy from?

Eemaan in the Final Day

1 01 1990

Hane’, the servant of Uthman, Radi Allahu Anhu, recalls, “Whenever Uthman (RAA) would stand over a grave he used to cry, his beard would moisten from the tears. Some would ask him, ‘When Heaven and Hell are mentioned you do not cry, but when the grave is mentioned you collapse crying, how come?’ He (RAA) would say: I hear the Prophet (SAAS) say, ‘the grave is the first stage of the Hereafter, whoever passes it will be at ease after it, and if he does not pass it he will be in the most horrific of conditions.’ I also heard him say, ‘Never have I seen a sight more horrifying than the graveyard.

She’s My Sister

1 01 1990

She’s My Sister

A true story translated by Muhammad Alshareef

Her cheeks were worn and sunken and her skin hugged her bones. That didn’t stop her though, you could never catch her not reciting Qur’an. Always vigil in her personal prayer room Dad had set up for her. Bowing, prostrating, raising her hands in prayer. That was the way she was from dawn to sunset and back again, boredom was for others.
